2010-01-04 17:17: End-of-life for PHP 4 and FPSE
We have now started terminating support for PHP 4 and FPSE.

Customers who still use FrontPage will notice that publishing web pages will only be possible via FTP or SFTP, and that special FPSE functionality such as guest books, feedback forms and visitor counts will cease to function.

Customers using PHP 4 will notice that they can no longer use .htaccess to change the PHP configuration and that register_globals is disabled. In addition, there are many well-documented changes in PHP itself, please see the PHP homepage for more information - our PHP 5 version is currently in the 5.2 series, not the 5.3 series. Standard memory limitations are somewhat higher than they were for PHP 4 (32 MB instead of 16 MB).

Customers who are not using PHP 4 or FPSE, but whose webhotels are on webservers with PHP 4, will also be transfered to new servers, which may cause problems if programs installed depend on old software versions etc.

The old login-server for Unix shell (SSH/SCP/SFTP) has now been decomissioned.

Note: Some of our PHP 4 users may now be exceeding the "hard" disk quota, because they earlier had many files belonging to the "www" user. This was not detectable while using the PHP 4 systems, but it is now. If you find yourself using more disk space than you are paying for, you will not be able to upload new files, and your installed software may malfunction if it cannot write new files. In this case, you need to upgrade to a larger webhotel or remove unused files.
