2009-10-29 20:23: FPSE to be discontinued December 31, 2009Several customers still use FPSE (FrontPage Server Extensions), both for publishing web pages and for creating guestbooks, contact forms, etc.
Microsoft discontinued their development of FPSE in 2002, and discontinued security updates in 2005.
Due to increasing maintenance problems and lack of vendor support, FPSE will therefore be deactivated in our webservers December 31, 2009.
Using FrontPage for publishing via FTP will continue to be possible, but guestbooks, contact forms and similar extended FPSE functions will cease to function.
Those of our customers who do not wish to program their own contact form, can use our in-house standard form for that.
There are also some customers who use both PHP and FPSE in the same web hotel. This has always been a bad combination, and we urge those of our customers who have this combination to stop using FPSE as soon as possible. FPSE will automatically be deactivated when upgrading to PHP 5 for those of our customers whose web hotels are on a PHP 4 based server.
