2020-11-19 10:41: Fraud attempts aimed at Domainnameshop's customers
Recently, we have seen an increase in fraud attempts to "renew" the domain sent via email to several of our customers.

The fraud attempt appears to have been professionally and thoroughly carried out, but it is possible to see some signs that it is not legitimate. Here is what to look for:

These characters may vary from attempt to attempt, but pay special attention to emails that do not come from a Domainnameshop email address and where the link appears to go to Domainnameshop, but does not actually do so.

2020-11-12 13:21: PHP 7.2-webhotel upgrades to PHP 7.4 finished
Earlier today, we finished upgrading webhotels with PHP 7.2 to PHP 7.4.

Affected customers' account administrator and webmaster have been notified via email.

During a short transition period, a temporary downgrade to PHP 7.2 is possible if the upgrade has resulted in problems. It is also possible to select PHP 7.3, which we recommend against, as security support for PHP 7.3 ends late 2021.

Customers who have temporarily downgraded to PHP 7.2, and who have not upgraded again within the end of November, will automatically be upgraded again in the beginning of December, without the option of downgrading to 7.2. Only PHP 7.3 will be available as a downgrade option.

See also our frequently asked questions about PHP for more information.

2020-11-05 12:16: WordPress 5.5.3 security update
On 30 October, WordPress released update 5.5.3, which is a bugfix release for the security update 5.5.2 released 29 October.

Other versions than those listed below, are considered unsafe. Please update as soon as possible. We also remind you that because PHP 7.2 soon will cease receiving security updates, any WordPress versions not supporting PHP 7.3 or newer, will likely experience difficulties.

We urge all WordPress-using customers to update to 5.5.3.
