I have registered my own domain name. What can I use the domain for?

A domain can be used for a lot of things, but the most well-known uses are email and webpages. If you are going to use it for something else, you already know what you want the domain for. You can upgrade the services on your domain directly from your account on our webpage.

Email

While using more and more social media to communicate, email remains the most important digital communication form and is often used as login to other services. There are several advantages to using email services on your own domain; you can get the address you want, it looks more professional, it's easier to remember and it's yours. You will not lose your email address if you change your internet service provider or the internet provider stops offering an email.

Webpages

There are many different types of websites. The first thing you should do is identify what you want to convey. Is it information about a business, a place, a hobby, an online store, a blog, a portfolio or maybe a whole new web service? And how active should this be, is it a static page that is updated a few times a year or is it a page you want to update daily.

If you have a blog or page you want to update regularly, you can use publishing systems (CMS) like Wordpress or Joomla. These are solutions you can install on a Web hosting Standard (EUR €3.49 a month) or greater with us. Read how to set up Wordpress and Joomla . There are also similar solutions for online stores. Please note that such solutions must be updated when new versions have been released, especially when there are security issues that are fixed.

If you do not feel comfortable managing the pages of a web hosting service with us, you can use online services that allow you to create and publish content on their servers. They will be able to provide you with information about how the domain you have with us should be pointed out for the page to appear. Note that these providers may charge an additional fee to allow to point their own domain to their services.
