How do I update the SPF record to avoid delivery issues when sending email?
SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is a mechanism to specify which servers/providers are allowed to send e-mail with a From: address on your domain. If SPF is incorrectly configured, you risk that e-mails you send out do not reach some recipients, or that they end up in the recipient's spam folder.

To include Domainnameshop's email services in your SPF listing, add the following:

If you only use Domainnameshop's services for sending e-mails, the entire entry can look like this (this is also our default setting):

"v=spf1 ~all"

If you also send out e-mails via other providers (newsletter, online shop, etc.), then these providers must also be added to the SPF record. You will get information about this from each provider. A complete SPF entry might then look like this:

"v=spf1 ~all"

If you have DNS through Domainnameshop, you can edit the SPF record in the same way as you edit other TXT records.

In addition, we have created a wizard that allows you to easily add SPF entries for some common providers such as e.g. Gmail, Mailchimp and Shopify. Here is how to use it:

  1. Log in to the control panel at
  2. Click on My Domains
  3. Click on the relevant domain
  4. Click on the Email tab at the top of the page
  5. Click Show advanced settings
  6. Scroll down the page and click on Edit SPF
  7. Tick the e-mail providers you use and click Save
